test render done for an illustration for Persephone's Dream Opposition CD.
the story is about a boy who drowns himself in the river to wash away his sins.
the angel in and of the water has accepted his life and is now 'saving' his soul.
the position of the angel in the cd booklet was joined with the next song,
Kindred Soil, to form the two-page illustration showing the skeletons of the
forefathers on the shores of the river.
here is an interesting aside -- i got hammered by quite a few older people who were offended by the rendition of the angel. they wanted to see the angel done up in 'light' and thought that the concept of the a 'water angel' was hedonistic and offensive. to them, angels MUST equal warmth, light, and love.
interesting how different brains process things, no?
